East/West Food rescue has been contracting with Eastern Washington farmers to donate the extra crops to the people, 100s of tons. This food is being trucked to Woodenville Washington to Farmer Frog’s farm by Paridise Lake. After contacting Zofia Pastor of Farmer Frog we were given permission to pick up produce, onions and potatoes. The first week Myself and Elizibeth from Food is Free Olympia rented a U-Haul truck and picked up 6 tons. We brought this south to the people of Olympia, Tacoma, and University Place. The pick ups are every Thursday so the following week we borrowed a flatbed trailer from Mike and Ginny Agnew. We got 4 tons this time and also supplied Food is Free Puyallup and Food is Free Edgewood. This next week we have a trucker, Erin, to pick up the load and bring it to Tacoma free of charge. We are told that we can have 20 tons. We are also working on having a souther pick up point.
